PCRE: Perl Compatible Regular Expressions
On OS X, to get started, use Terminal and: man grep
(This _may_ not be PCRE, I don't know.)
If you use BBEdit in any "later" version or TextWrangler (BBEdit Lite) then
you have a "grep" or PCRE help file on your drive. Choose 'TextWrangler
Help' (or BBEdit Help) from the Help menu. There is an entire section on
using regular expressions.
Or Google:
<http://www.google.com/search?q=+PCRE+"regular+expressions"+grep>
