Mail.app 10.4.2 and scripting signatures

10.4.x has had a bug in scripting Mail.app to create new signatures
for e-mail messages. I just installed 10.4.2 and the bug seems to
still be there. When one requests to make a new signature with
properties {name:"X", content:"Y"}, it causes mail to have problems.
Opening the preferences window will freeze once opened and one has to
quit Mail.
Does Chris Nebel or anyone else knowledgeable about this issue know
when this bug (previously reported) will be fixed? Or is there a
workaround for making a new signature that actually works?
