Will the switch to intel chips mean that a user could toggle between mac and windows?

In practice, I can do that now with Virtual PC.

And does that in turn decrease the incentive for developers to develop for both platforms? And which platform does that favor? My anxiety is that it favors windows, which dominates in numbers. A rational anxiety? Just wondering.

Developers will develop for whatever platform they choose that has enough users as potential customers. Not every developer wants to be an Adobe or a Microsoft.

I've been using Macs since 1985 by choice. Even if the switch to Intel allowed me to run Windows easier on my Intel-based Mac, I would choose not to. And I believe a vast majority of Mac users would say the same thing.
