can't get version

Hi,

I can't get the version with Tiger.

tell application "Finder" to set x to long version
tell application "Finder" to set x to short version
tell application "Finder" to set x to system version
set x to system version

All produce errors.

What I'm looking for is a way to tell if the System is Tiger.

Any cure?
