The BIG BOLD "XNET 1.0" at the very top of the page...the first text in the
content (right) column, in fact. And also on the left side, in the
navigation box.

Yup.

I'll try to make everything clearer on the website.

You can download a binary, or source code, and you can read all about Xnet.

OH? WHERE? It is customary to put clearly labeled download links on the
page. Well I finally found that there are links placed faintly in the text
- but as noted by others - the links don't work.

Ok, I've added a section at the end of the article with links to whatever you want to download.

I got another link direct from Jean Baptiste and downloaded the application,
but it doesn't work. Double click does nothing; use Activity Monitor, or
tell app Finder to list every process, Xnet never shows up. Drop Xnet on
script editor, nothing happens, no dictionary is revealed. That's what I'm
experiencing anyway.

My fault again, I've tried to include the .sdef (on Tiger) for dictionary , so SE is lost. You just have one file to add to the application :

The file can be found here : <http://lestang.org/osax/XNet/ XNet.sdef>, and place it in XNet.app/Contents/Resources/, now everything is fine(for the dictionary).

COncerning the last point, do you have a crash report or anything else?
