You can encounter problems copying text out of Script Editor. If you
try the following on certain files (such as the smart mailboxes.plist
file in Library/Mail):
info for (choose file)
and paste the results from script editor into Mail, you get this:
{name:"SmartMailboxes.plist", creation date:date "Friday, 24 June
2005 08:45:10", modification date:date "Friday, 24 June 2005
08:45:10", icon position:{0, 0}, size:1.0323E+4, folder:false,
alias:false, package folder:false, visible:true, extension
hidden:false, name extension:"plist", displayed
name:"SmartMailboxes.plist", default application:alias "Macintosh
HD:Developer:Applications:Utilities:Property List Editor.app:",
kind:"XML Property List File", file type:"file creator:"type
identifier:"dyn.age81a5dmsr4a", locked:false, busy status:false,
short version:"", long version:""}
Notice how it goes wrong after file type. I think Jean-Baptiste is
right about the ASCII 0 characters. The file type and file creator
strings consist of 4 strange characters.
