WebServices and long datatype - how?

  • Subject: WebServices and long datatype - how?

Dear List,

I've read an article about Automator, AppleScript and WebServices at
http://rentzsch.com/macosx/automatorRunWebServiceParameters.

I was really amazed to discover WebService support within AS, but in
the end I became really disappointed. It seems as if nobody is really working
with stuff. Although I thinks it's great for a quick test or similar tasks - if it only
would work...

My problem is quite simple:

call an apache axis webservice that does require
a long datatype from AppleScript.

WSMakeStubs does create a

set params to params & {id:(in_id as integer)}

for a parameter that should be a long datatype, which is causing an exception
when calling the soap method, making the call impossible from AS.

Does anybody have an idea how to get this working or is it simply not
possible?

Whom at Apple might be able to answer my question?

Christian
