That's just reminded me of something - the "eppc" thing...
I think that Matt Neuberg posted recently that he'd never got an AppleScript
to work when sending AppleEvents to other users on the same Mac.
Last night I had this working OK (for a while) so that I could read/send
calendar information to/from another user session on my laptop.
But there's something suspicious about the way this works.
If you try an address like user2@localhost and it fails you can get it to
work by switching the host address to something else like 127.0.0.1 and it
will keep working OK until you need to switch back to the other user.
Problem is that once you've used the host once it will continue to channel
all the events to the same user no matter what you put before the @ and it
isn't fooled by switching the hostname and then switching back again.
I've got a sneaky suspicion that this must have something to do with the OS
setting up some kind of responder to the events which will work for a
specific host and then stays fixed until you find some way of flushing it
out of the system (log out or reboot most probably) because it didn't seem
to timeout and remained fixed even if I cut and pasted the script from
Script Debugger to Script Editor.
Hope this is of use to somebody...
