did you run this ...?:-) or is Standard Additions not automatically
installed? anyway, I get an error (not that I am not grateful to you and
everyone else..)

It runs fine. I'm pretty sure it has run since Mac OS 7.5.

Standard Additions is part of a standard installation. Look for /System/Library/ScriptingAdditions/StandardAdditions.osax.

What kind of error message did you get?
