From our server guy?

I think I can clarify this a bit. The server application usually runs as a UNIX daemon process, listening on a TCP/IP port for incoming connections. Once connected the transactions are usually text, but responses can stream back files as well (such as images). We're looking for a way for an Applescript to make a TCP/IP connection and send/receive data across it (short of writing our own Applescriptable middleware).
