I had a similar prob with another "User"!
You could try scripting the saving & replacement of QXP preferences (which I
believe store the pallete positions).
OMM, in the QXP 411 folder; "XPress Preferences".
Duplicate a known good version, (labelled, to tell the difference).
I also append a date for ref, doesn't seem to upset QXP.
