system attribute "HOME"?

In what version of OS X was this command added? I'm wondering the 'backwards
compatibility' of my script, as I am using this in a script. What is the
'oldest' version this script would properly execute on?

It was evidently added as an optional parameter for the 'system attribute' command in Mac OS X 10.1.2 (AppleScript version 1.8.1). Other shell environment variables introduced at the same time were "SHELL", "USER", "LANG", "PATH" and "__CF_USER_TEXT_ENCODING".
