Is that the right question? cURL is a robust, reliable command line
tool which works very well in conjunction with AppleScript. If you're
looking to upload/download files from an FTP server, I'd look at using
that.
cURL is part of the default Mac OS X operating system.
"man curl" in the terminal for further info or <http://curl.haxx.se/>.
