Finder scripting and FileVault

After spending a couple of hours trying to debug this, I vaguely
remembered having read something about it.
With a normal user directory, "path to home folder" gives "Macintosh
HD:Users:username:". But with a FileVault user directory, "path to home
folder" just gives "username:" (which makes sense, since the home
directory is effectively a separately mounted disk image"), but then
tell app "Finder"
folder "username:"
end tell
give an error: Can't get folder "username:"
Is this a known bug in Finder scripting with FileVault (or a
"restriction")?
Thanks,
Neil Faiman
