Smile crash

Using 10.3.8, dual 2ghz/2.5gb RAM.

I have just installed various new applications like Photoshop, Quark
Express, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, FreeHand, GoLive & Illustrator and
somewhere along the way I have bumped into a problem with Smile.

It opens very slowly, locking the system for about 10 seconds. I can created
new Script windows & run them, but trying to open the Console or Preferences
cause Smile to crash. I've tried reinstalling and removing
com.satimage.Smile.plist, but the problem persists.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated?
