Fine. :-)
I mean, because I tried various ways, through genuine AS scripting as
well as through UI scripting without success...

But I've remained curious about a way to script this action, regardless.

Well... me too.

You could use Path Finder as ISTR it allows you to make packages behave like
conventional folders (can be a very annoying feature).

Yes, I guess I understand why... ;-)
Or you could try and find a way of forcing the Finder to bypass its default
behaviour.

Maybe Daniel can try something with AppleScriptKit - I'm sure that
NSNavView includes something like treatPackagesAsFolders=False. Can we alter
this using AppleScript?

In fact, Jonathan's question raised a more general one:
- if a STOCK and/or WELL BEHAVED application's AScripting model doesn't provide a way to perform a given action, one could try the UI scripting,
- but often, the UI scripting way SEEMS to fail with all those pop-up menus and those more or less esoteric things
So, I was (and still am) interested to know whether I just don't understand UI scripting. ;-)

Anyway, many thanks for your above suggestions,
Axel
