I hope they meant it's unnecessary for Cocoa application developers to specify element accessor information manually in their sdefs, not that it's unnecessary for dictionary viewers to display element accessor information to users. The latter would be a pretty embarrassing failure in joined-up thinking, in which case it's lucky for them that they remain "unidentified" to spare their eternal blushes. :p
