I like this analogy, but comparing Automator actions to Duplos bricks doesn't give credit to the configurability of a well-designed automator action.

I think an automator action is sort of like a pre-built lego space station :)

It's like an AppleScript dictionary that lets you write the script by tweaking the dictionary.
