I am intrigued to know how you intend to use the StartupItems folder in the
user's Library folder on Panther when Panther does not include this folder.
The folder only appears in Tiger.

You were also using a feature of "display dialog" that does not exist in
Panther either. There is no "with title" for "display dialog" on my Panther
machine.
