Error in Tiger sending string to Terminal

  • Subject: Error in Tiger sending string to Terminal

I'm sending this string to Terminal:

hdiutil create -srcfolder '~/Public/€Installers/Toast 6 Titanium' -fs HFS+
-volname 'Toast 6 Titanium' -ov -format UDZO -imagekey zlib-level=1
'~/Public/€Installers/Toast 6 Titanium'

In Panther it behaves as expected, but in Tiger it does something strange
when it hits the "big dot".

hdiutil create -srcfolder '~/Public/Installers/Toast 6 Titanium' -fs HFS+
-volname 'Toast 6 Titanium' -ov -format UDZO -imagekey zlib-level=1
'~/Public/€Installers/Toast 6 Titanium' Public/Public/

Note that it copies the " Public/", removes the bigdot and pastes " Public/"
twice at the end of the string.

If I paste the string in Terminal it acts normally.

What is going on here? How to fix it?

Seems like Tiger broke all my best scripts.
