Thanks for the info John, it raises a few concerns:
1. Admittedly, there were a lot of duplicated functions between Image
Capture, Image Events and ColorSync Scripting. But, there are also plenty of
features missing from Image Events to do with profiles that are still part
of ColorSync - matching with, using quality etc.
Is there a policy document somewhere on the Apple site that gives
information about your intentions/timeline for making changes to the
*scriptability* of these apps? Checking for breakages with every update is
a PITA :(
2. The reason that Image Capture is of particular interest is that it is now
scriptable via Automator but *not* AppleScript - which is something that I
find very annoying as I'm deeply suspicious that more and more applications
will be supplied with limited Automator support at the expense of a full AS
dictionary.
3. You've got scripts on the Apple site for Image Capture that will not
compile in Tiger: <http://www.apple.com/applescript/apps/>
I'm going to CC this post to the applescript-users list as the issues are
more relevant to AppleScript than ColorSync.
