Ah. I realise my mistake: I'd had a Unix path, where I should have had an
Applescript path.

As in, I had / instead of : . Durr, as we say here.

Made the change and it works perfectly with the string (I assume it works
with the alias too).

I've not seen this beast. Where in the menu bar? I have a scripts menu
displayed, but didn't notice anything happening. Still, the workflow
happened. So now I'm happy - thanks, Daniel.
