More than one response recommended Satimage.osax. and XMLLib.osax.
But I'm trying to elimimate the requirement for scripting additions, which
is why I'm using System Events. Fortunately, the .plist file I'm reading is
under my complete control, so I have solved my problem by simply
changing its format. I did a test earlier today and it seems to work like
the proverbial charm. Thanks.
