I tried to script changes in Mail signatures after the 10.4.3 update, which had previously known (since 10.4.0) and reported bugs. I'm still not able to do so in Mail 2.0.5, but would appreciate one of the experts on this list to try and see if they can successfully script a change to the content of an existing signature. I'm not sure if it's my lack of proficiency in scripting or a bug that hasn't been fixed yet.

It's a bug. There was nothing in the 10.4.3 release notes to indicate that it was fixed.
