Sorry for the second posting here, but I noticed a second similar posting in
the archives. This is clearly a bug, and a long-lasting one it seem, over 2
years ago:

Subject: Remote Apple Events and Keychain
From: John Nichol <email@hidden>
Date: Wed, 23 Jul 2003 19:44:44 +1000
I had a really simple script that worked until it had to consult the
keychain for a password:

tell application "Finder" of machine "eppc://xx.xx.xxx.xx"
restart
end tell

It asked for a password when it checked the syntax. It accepted the password
and approved the syntax. I checked the box to add the password to the
keychain and ran the script. It asked for the password again, and then
happily restarted the remote machine. I saved and closed the script.

But when I opened the script again later and ran it, Script Editor just
crashed (quit unexpectedly, I mean).

I ran the script from a different machine and it worked happily as long as
it didn't have to get the password from the keychain. When I added the
password to the keychain on this second machine, then closed the script and
reopened it, it crashed Script Editor again.

Is there a trick here?

(I'm using OSX 10.2.6 and Script Editor 1.9.

Thanks

John
