change the style for application keywords to be underlined

Does this work for everyone else? I've been trying to do it for 10 minutes now. Using Script Editor 2.1 (80), I can change the font and the colour, but none of the other text controls on the font panel register (or even activate the Apply button on the Formatting dialog). The sample at the top of the font panel doesn't change either. Is it available just for certain fonts? Is my system kaputt? (10.4.2)
