Fortunately, for my purposes, I only needed to identify such files in a
Finder 'whose' filter.
But I can't reproduce your problem here. I don't have Script Debugger,
but Script Editor and Smile files with identical name extensions open in
their respective creators when double-clicked on my Tiger machine. They
even do so if they have no extensions at all or extensions that are
obviously wrong, such as ".pdf". However, compiled scripts and script
applets open in the default editor when option-clicked in Script Menu.
Similarly, compiled scripts whose creator types have deliberately been
deliberately set to 'missing value' open in the default editor when
double-clicked in the Finder.
And if I fool around too much with extensions and creator types, the
scripts involved become mapped to Classic versions of the editors.... 8\
