Why not just have a 'Read Me Applescript' which does the same? However, that might not work with all systems (security reasons). That saves the user a click - makes things a *little* simpler.
Don't the Apple system install CDs open on insert? And open to a specific folder, not the root (since the root contains System/, Library/, and all sorts of other stuff that new users don't want to see.. (usually :))
