I can't remember or find out how to check to see if Classic is running.

I'd try something like this:

tell application "System Events"
	"Classic Support" is in (name of every process)
	-->true/false
end tell

I've never checked whether it's also called "Classic Support" on non-english
systems though.

Hello

On my french system, it is named the same: "Classic Support"
