I want to put PDF data on the clipboard that I have received from an application as a string. The data should be properly tagged as "PDF data" so that I can perform a "New with clipboard" operation in the Preview application. Using the "set the clipboard to" scripting command with the PDF data puts the data on the clipboard as text but not as graphics. Should I cast the PDF data to something other than text before putting it on the clipboard?

Once you've got the PDF data in the clipboard (on in a variable), why not making a file yourself?
