It is pretty common these days to enclose a URL in arrow brackets <>. Many email clients, even on peecees, handle them OK even if some mail transfer agent adds return characters while the message is enroute. Nut they need to be real <>'s and not fakes.
HTML mail, as was yours, does things differently and likely changes things around a bit like this:

I suggest you turn off the HTML "styles" and try your tests again. If you really need the HTML for something then place the URL in an anchor where it would be recognized by a browser.

But don't ask me how to do that in M$ Entourage. The spammers sure know how.
<http://tinyurl.com> might be worth a look if your e-mail client is deprived.
