This is not really AS related, but yes, Apple don't support 2-way synch for
iCal.
For 2-way, you need iSynCal, which I have found to be flawless in operation
over 6 months now.

I use it to push my cal changes between home and work using the iPod as an
intermediary (nice side effect: the calendar part of iPod is properly
maintained). Also works across remote connections.
Oh yes: make sure you don't have iTunes set to synch calendars to the iPod
(whose bright idea was it to put a music program in charge of a PIM? And who
thought that 1-way synching was a smart idea?)
