preventing style sheets from combining in XPress

  • Subject: preventing style sheets from combining in XPress

don't know if i'm missing something simple, but thought i might throw this
toward the group.

inserting or deleting text in XPress at the border between style sheets
applies the first style sheet to both paragraphs.

for example:
if a paragraph ends with space and return, and i replace it with return,
the subsequent paragraph assumes the style sheet of the first paragraph.

the same happens if i insert text at the beginning of a paragraph
that's at a border between style sheets.

is there a work-around?
