Nope, I didn't. Thanks for that - makes things simpler,

I think he may be trying to merge inappropriate columns. One of them is
supposed to contain dates, and the other times, which get converted to
seconds, always fewer than the number of seconds in a day (86,400). Adding
those to any valid date won't be a number that's too large. So (unless
there's a bug somewhere, very doubtful), he's probably trying to merge one
date with another date, or something like that.
