You mention Filemaker 8 but do not mention using the new built-in feature
expressly designed for this purpose.

Script variables allow you to dynamically set file paths. You would have a
single standard FileMaker import script using a script variable for the file
name. An earlier step would put the correct file path into the script
variable.
