I would expect the Finder to respect the view settings in the
disc's .DS_Store folder. (Doesn't it?)
It is possible to have a folder auto-open in Finder when a volume is
mounted, but I only know the low-level details, not what to tell you
do to, to actually make it happen. It's part of the long-standing
"open folder chain" mechanism, where one of the volume's Finder Info
fields is the dir ID of a folder to auto-open (such as fsRtDirID (2)
for the disc itself).
