It was Dave Shaver.  I was the Apple Event Registrar at the time and put it into the AERegistry.h header file originally.  I recall talking on the phone with Dave about it.  For his convenience I didn't change the 4 char code, although it wouldn't have hurt anything if I had.  After all, he used Apple's reserved all lowercase format.  ;)
