Hi,
I may be opening a can of worms here and may soon regret this, but I invite subscribers to this list to have a look at
"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Applescript";
I stumbled across it a few weeks ago and "cleaned it up" a bit. It was filled with a lot of pretty biased opinions, a few misstatements of fact and a few misleading comments about AppleScript, it's history, development and utility.
It seemed to have been written from the point of view of a developer (a frustrated, grumpy, fussy developer at that) and didn't seem to offer much (or any) good information for AppleScript users.
It's a bit better now, IMHO, but it still needs work. While I consider myself fairly well steeped in the history and development of AppleScript, I know there are people who follow this list who have a better grasp on some details, particularly the differences from the developer's perspective between AppleScript in Mac OS and Mac OS X in the inner workings of the object model.
I also think the page needs a much better introduction to and AppleScript that would be more helpful to potential AppleScripters.
Have a look, let me know what you think. (Feel free to respond to me off list too).
