So is there a way to shed the source code while

osacompile -x -o readonly.scpt original.scpt

Great has!
This is exactly what I wanted! Now its easy for me to make some scripts and droplets to keep me from ever having to touch that scary check box in the save dialog ever again.

Someone recommended to use Script Debugger instead, where run-only is made by "exporting". Well I don't script that much nowadays and don't really feel the need for that type of IDE, full featured, environment when doing my fairly small and seldom stuff. Earlier I did all my scripting in Smile which I find really sweet. Still use it, especially for "goofing" around making tests and sketching. But since the Cocoa flavor SE came, I really find the editing environment there nice. But I miss the --mark from Smile where I can control places to be shown in the handlers sub-menu.

Thanks/

PS. Over-and-out! Now I have got all I asked for. Thanks guys. DS.
