A question for Emmanuel:
I've only recently discovered the "ufind text" and "uchange" AS
commands in Smile (for anyone else who hasn't, these are the Unicode
versions of the indispensable, regular-expression-supporting "find
text" and "change" from satimage.osax).
The logical question is: do you have any plans to role these Unicode
commands into the Satimage osax?
It's mainly a matter of priority. The urgence was to make available
in Smile a consistent Unicode text commands Suite. Indeed, Smile's
Unicode Suite includes more than the two commands you say: in Smile
you edit Unicode files, you have "unicode number / unicode
character", etc.
These times we are developing other important features, a part of
which will add to the reasons to install Smile in your machine, and
when this makes sense in your clients' machines. We hope that, all in
all, Smile will soon serve professional AppleScript users much better
than ever, and the Unicode Suite is a part of the solution here.
So, as you see, publishing "ufind text" and "uchange" in an osax
would be handy, yet it's slightly out of our policy today.
Although I didn't test them thoroughly myself I think that has'
TextCommands are both powerful and reliable, so thanks to has the
impact of the non-availability of "ufind text" and "uchange" in
applets or in AS-Studio apps will remain minor, I think.
