Surround 'make new folder at x with properties {name:foldername}'
with 'try' and 'end try', as in ...
try
make new folder at x with properties {name:foldername}
end try
Whether you are accessing a folder via a hardwired (full) or symbolic
link path, your code will function - as expected.
