Don't be absurd. Word X's AppleScript simply didn't work - it would always
crash, plus anything to do with text (like what you're doing now) would
usually be wrong - and then it would crash.

Download the Word 2004 AppleScript Reference from
http:www.microsoft.com/mac/, click links to Resources/Developer/AppleScript,
and study it.
