I realize that this is not an Applescript issue, but I'm running out ... 'm diving into the dark world of REALbasic ... I bought a book ... That got me most of the way through but there is no mention of emailing or sending data.

Any help would be appreciated.

In addition to David LeBer's suggestion -

01. Launch 'REALbasic' (version 2006 Release 3 - assumed).
02. Select the 'Help, Language References' menu item. The 'Language Reference - Category Browser' window will appear.
03. In the search field enter 'emailmessage' and press the <return> key. The window will refresh and be titled 'Language Reference - Search results'.
04. Locate and click on the 'EmailMessage' link. The window will refresh and be titled 'Language Reference - EmailMessage Class'.

Here you will see a complete example of creating and sending an e-Mail message.

----

The above Steps apply to REALbasic v. 5.5.4; but, you will have to click on the SMTPSocket link (just below the 'EmailMessage' listing's example) for a complete example of creating and sending an e-Mail message.
