I have been working on a pure (OFF TOPIC here) perl script that sends whatever is on the clipboard out to a preestablished list of addresses. It has been tested only for a particular usage involving a short mailing list which requires lots of long <url>'s that AppleMail.app refuses to leave alone. It could easily be modified to do what you want.
It does all of its own mail processing using sockets and an SMTP server for which you have to have an IP address or domain name.
And (ON TOPIC here) it does have a two-line AppleScript GUI for it so you copy text you want to send and double click the AppleScript app. To:, From:, Subject: and other required headers are coded in.
If you, or anyone else, wants to play with it please ask off line. It will be a few weeks before I write real documentation for it, but some testing by others would be nice. Perl code may be overly concise but it doesn't change when you change the target application or the OS.

Applescript syntax is like English spelling:
Roughly, though not thoroughly, thought through.
