What does this mean? NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4?

So when I run my script I get
get message id of message id 251970 of mailbox "Local/lists/mac/apple/
webobjects-dev"
"Mail got an error: NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4"
and it always highlights the following
set mid to (message id of eachMessage)
"message id" is always highlighted when this error occurs.
If there was no message id in the message I'd expect it to return an
empty string so I don't
think that's the problem.
