Yes, I put Quark tags in MSWord files before import, and use (many)
style sheets. I did define the note nos. on another job with character
style sheets, which saved me on that job.
On this one, the way the author has set up the ms, for the superscript
note nos. the begin & end codes are the same around the note nos. My
tags won't work--the end note code makes all text following it
superscript; or I will have to go thru and change each end note code by
hand. Since one chapter has 200 notes, I am looking for a way not to
do this ...
More than you wanted to know, I'm sure ...
Thanks for the input, OC
Clay, one simple question:
Did you use a quark style sheet defintion to define the type style for
the numbers? If so, changing those numbers throughout the document is
as simple as redefining the master style sheet for the book to reflect
the new font you want, and no scripting is necessary (a single change,
ta-da, it's done globally for the book).
Unfortunately, a lot of beginning & intermediate quark users don't
seem to understand the concept of style sheets, or don't use them
fully...
I know that wasn't an AppleScript solution, but it may be worth
checking...
Cheers

"AGaramond" gives me lining figures, "AGaramond RegularSC" gives me
old
style.
