The sed script has many other lines. For cleanliness I was hoping to
include this command in the sed script, hence my resistance to
explore other options.
Mark's perl script was tidy and effective. I could move the whole
shebang over to perl. I'm just learning sed though. I want to be self-
sufficient somewhat.
