No, I have that enabled intentionally because I like short lines. I
can turn it off for scripts as needed, but usually I attach the
scripts rather than pasting them into the body of the message, so it
doesn't matter.

Yes, it did. I submit to you the content type header from Paul's message:
Content-type: text/plain;
charset="ISO-8859-1"
Note that the character set is *explicitly* set to Latin-1. He then
has the Quoted-Printable-encoded character =BE, which is, in Latin-1,
¾. If your email client shows anything *other* than that character,
then it, not mine, is in error.
