Thanks Mike, you are right.
I had tested both 6 and "6"
(just in case) but both were failing.
I just found my issue, tho, and it was
that the test for OSVersion was incorrect. It was supposed to be "104"
and "103" not "10.4" etc.
It's working now.
I jumped the gun on emailing the list.

of window "Print"
UIV is a string here where I think you need an integer.
set UIV to "6" = UI element "6"
-- a named element
set UIV to 6 = UI element 6 -- an indexed element
