Hi,

I'm looking for the most efficient way via appleScript to get an images IPTC metadata, given the file's path.

So far all the methods I've found involve opening the file in an image editor (photoshop, graphics converter) and getting the info there. Is there a way to do this without opening the photo for editing?

I haven't tested this theory (specifically getting IPTC metadata), but I use BBEdit to get file size, pixel dimensions, names, etc. from eps files. Perhaps a lightweight text editor might be something worth exploring?
